Why is it important?
It is important and effects our everyday life in many ways.
In the Catholic Church there is a growing need to reflect on the means and institutions necessary to implement the values of her Social Doctrine.
Christians in general are continuously challenged to explain the meaning of the Gospel and especially of the Sermon on the Mount for social and political ethics.
Secular society, on the other hand, needs a transcendental foundation for its values, without which human rights cannot be explained.
